The answers...

1. Why self-publish?
   Many people self-publish their books. Some people choose to self-publish because they have been rejected by traditional publishers; others choose to self-publish their works because they are non-commercial, or will appeal to a very small readership. Self-publishing is also a good way to test your book in the marketplace.
   
   
2. Who retains the rights/who owns the copyright of my book?
   You do! When you self-publish with Publish-me you only pay for publishing services and you retain all the rights.
   
   
3. And so I get all the sales revenue?
   Yes! When you work with Publish-me your fees include a certain number of copies of your book for you to distribute to your family and friends or to sell. If you choose to engage Publish-me to help you distribute your books, a small charge is made.
   
   
4. How much can I make from self-publishing my book?
   This is tricky! The truth is, it's impossible to say. It depends on the market for your book, how your book is promoted, where it is sold, how much publicity it receives and a whole host of other factors.
   
   
5. How much will it cost?
   This question can be answered by asking 'How long is a piece of string'! Every book is different and the price depends on the size, the design, the quality of the paper, the colour and how many copies are being printed. 6. Where can I get an editor?
   We can find an editor for you. At Publish-me we have access to a team of freelance editors who are members of the NSW Society of Editors.
   
   
7. Can I design my own cover?
   Absolutely! You can design your own cover, or ask Publish-me to help you.
   
   
8. Can you help me write the back cover 'blurb'?
   Of course. We have a team of experienced copywriters who can help you write the back cover blurb. Why not have a look at our Bronze, Silver and Gold publishing packages.
   
   
9. How will I know what my book will look like?
   Before your book goes to print you will see proofs of the front and back covers and the spine. You will also see a mock up of your book.
   
   
10. Where will I sell my book?
    That is entirely up to you. You can sell your book wherever you are able. It might be to family, friends and colleagues, or through your own website. Or you might want to talk to us about our distribution services. We will also promote and offer your book for sale on the Publish-me website.
    
    
11. Who will market my book?
    Publish-me can help you create a marketing plan for your book. As part of our Silver and Gold packages we will also create an Author Publicity Flyer for you.
    
    
12. Can you help me write a press release?
    We can. A press release is included as part of our Gold package.
    
    
13. How can I distribute my book?
    As the owner of all the copies of your book, you are responsible for distribution. However, Publish-me is able to provide distribution services for a small charge.
    
    
14. What is the minimum/maximum number of books I can print?
    This is up to you, although we would not normally recommend that you printed less than 50 copies of your book. The more quantities you print, the unit price tends to decrease.
    
    
15. How do I know what layout and design will suit my book?
    Our team of experienced professionals will be able to advise you on the most suitable design and layout for your type of book.
